ActorCamp (“ActorCamp”, “we”, “us”), operated by Wes Davis Films, LLC (USA). When teaching classes in New Zealand, we act as an “agency” under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.

What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights. It applies to our websites actorcamp.co.nz and actorcamp.co.nz sub‑pages, our checkout (WooCommerce/WooPayments), and our in‑person classes and events in New Zealand.
What we collect
We only collect information needed for our services. This may include:
- Identity & contact: name, email, phone, billing address, (optional) postal address.
- Enrollment details: class(s) selected, dates, attendance, communications.
- Payment info: we never keep full card details; Stripe/WooPayments processes payments. We may keep last 4 digits of card and transaction IDs for records.
- Site data: IP address, device information, and cookies/analytics data (see Cookies below).
- Media: with consent, photos/video from classes and events.
How we use your information
- Provide, schedule and run classes (and related communications).
- Take and manage payments, issue invoices/receipts, handle GST (if applicable), and prevent fraud.
- Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
- Improve our website and classes (analytics, quality assurance).
- Marketing (only with consent where required) — newsletters, updates, promotions.
Lawful basis / legal reasons we rely on
- Providing services & contract: to register you, reserve your seat, run classes, and take payment.
- Legitimate interests: running our business, improving our site/services, preventing fraud, securing our systems.
- Consent: email/SMS marketing, optional cookies/analytics, using your image in marketing, and any sensitive information you choose to share with us.
- Legal obligations: tax and accounting record‑keeping; responding to lawful requests.
Sharing your information
We share personal information with:
- Payment processors: Stripe/WooPayments (card data handled by them, not stored on our servers).
- Website & hosting providers: WordPress (core), selected plugins, hosting, and email/sms providers.
- Analytics/marketing tools: only if enabled (see Cookies/Consent).
- Professional advisers: accountants, legal advisers. We require these providers to keep your information safe and to use it only for our purposes. Some may be overseas (see International transfers).
International transfers (disclosing information overseas)
We may transfer information to service providers outside New Zealand (for example, the United States, Australia, the EU/EEA, or other locations where our providers host data). Where we do so, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards are in place — such as data protection agreements, standard contractual clauses, and provider certifications. You can contact us for details of current providers and transfer mechanisms.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, including any legal/accounting requirements (for example, tax records). After that, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Your rights (New Zealand)
You can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.

Cookies & analytics
- Essential cookies run our site (security, checkout, session). You can disable cookies in your browser but our site may not work properly.
- Analytics & marketing cookies are optional and only run if you opt‑in (where required). You can change or withdraw your consent anytime.
Direct marketing (email/SMS)
We only send promotional emails/SMS only with appropriate consent. By registering for this website, or a class through the website, you consent to receiving messages.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information (e.g., HTTPS, access controls, role‑based admin access, security monitoring, and regular updates). Card data is processed by our payment processors and is not stored on our servers.
Data breaches
If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner as soon as practicable and follow required procedures.
Children
Our classes and site are intended for adults. If you’re under 16, a parent/guardian must enrol on your behalf.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version on our website with the “Last updated” date.
